Cleantech Acceleration for Circular Plastics: Promoting Innovation, Startups, and Sustainable Solutions in Bangladesh

SME Foundation and UNIDO have been jointly implementing a program on “Cleantech Acceleration for Circular Plastics: Promoting Innovation, Startups, and Sustainable Solutions in Bangladesh” under the project titled “Integrated Approach towards Sustainable Plastics Use and Marine Litter Prevention in Bangladesh”. Applications are invited from suitable candidates for the position of Project Officer on a contractual basis for 06 months. A shortlist will be prepared based on specific criteria, and the final candidate will be selected through written and/or oral examination.

Job Responsibility

• Support the planning and implementation of events, meetings, and field activities.
• Maintain effective communication and coordination with key stakeholders, technical consultants, R&D laboratories, and financial service providers.
• Coordinate the incubation process, including needs assessments, onboarding, and progress monitoring of selected enterprises.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, periodic reports, and communication materials.
• Develop content for social media, newsletters, and promotional materials to support public engagement efforts.

Eligibility Criteria

• A Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Climate Resilience, Economics, Public Administration, Social Sciences, or Development Studies from a recognized university.
• Candidates with prior relevant experience will be given priority.
• Proficiency in English (both written and spoken) is required, along with proven expertise in high-quality report writing within short timelines.
• Must be willing to travel and stay outside Dhaka as per project requirements.
• The appointment will be effective for 06 months.
• SME Foundation’s recruitment rules will not be applicable to this project-specific position.

Remuneration:

• A consolidated monthly remuneration of BDT 45,000 (subject to applicable taxes) will be offered. During field activities accommodation, transportation, and a daily allowance will be provided; no other allowances or bonuses will be applicable.
