11 Jumma injured in attack by army and miscreants undergoing treatment at Khagrachari Hospital, identities of deceased known
Hill Voice, 29 September 2025, Special Correspondent: Yesterday (28 September) during a road blockade in Guimara, Khagrachhari district, 10 Jummas who were injured in firing by the army and some of their collaborators and an elderly woman who was injured in a baton-charge by the army are currently undergoing treatment at Khagrachari Sadar Hospital, according to relevant sources.
The injured in the firing by the army and miscreants are: 1. Kongjasai Marma (30), village-Amtali, Guimara; 2. Athuiprue Marma (45), village-Guimara; 3. Kyazai Marma (25), village-Guimara; 4. Aung Marma (27), village-Baraitali, Guimara; 5. Jewel Chakma (27), Pathachara, Guimara; 6. Kyangchaihla Marma (45), village-Guimara; 7. Chinkyu Marma (25), village-Natunpara, Guimara; 8. Sachingnue Marma (24), village-Battala, Guimara; 9. Aungching Marma (23), address-Ramsu Bazar; 10. Bikash Tripura (23), village-Kumendra Karbari Para, Guimara.
On the other hand, the name of the elderly Jumma woman injured in the army’s baton-charge is Abaima Marma (70), village-Ugalchari, Panchari.
The bodies of three Jummas killed in the firing by the army and their accomplices are still at the morgue of Khagrachari Sadar Hospital. The identities of the latest victims have been revealed.
The deceased are: 1. Akhrau Marma (22), father-Hasu Marma, Mother-Krasung Marma; Village-Chenguli Para, Ward No.5, Hafchari Union, Guimara; 2. Teiching Marma (20), father-Alakai Marma, Mother-Danuprue Marma, Village-Ramsu Bazar, Battala, Ward No.4, Hafchari Union, Guimara and 3. Athuiprue Marma (21), father-Thuhla Aung Marma, Mother-Pratima Marma, Village-Debalchari, Chairman Para, Sindukchari Union, current address-Amatali Para, Ward No.5, Hafchari Union, Guimara.
According to the latest news, postmortems of the deceased were conducted at Khagrachari Sadar Hospital today.
It is worth mentioning that Yesterday between morning and 4 pm, 3 to 8 Jummas were allegedly killed and at least 15 injured and missing in a series of attacks by the army, Bengali settlers and outside miscreants in Ramsu Bazar and its surrounding Jumma settlements in Guimara Upazila. In addition, at least 15 houses, 60 shops and 13 motorcycles of local Jummas were set on fire and 7 shops were looted.
