44 arrested in weeklong joint operations against crime and drugs

Firearms, crude bomb, and ammunition seized during the drive

A total of 44 people, including identified top criminals, illegal arms holders, drug traders, muggers, online gamblers, and drug addicts, were arrested in joint operations carried out across the country between September 18 and 25.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) disclosed the update in a media release today.

The operations were conducted by different infantry divisions and independent brigades of the Bangladesh Army in coordination with other law enforcement agencies in Dhaka and other parts of the country.

According to the release, the forces seized seven illegal firearms, one crude bomb, 132 rounds of ammunition, locally and foreign-made sharp weapons, narcotics, chemicals for making cocktails, motorcycles, police uniforms, mobile phones, other stolen goods, and cash.

The detainees were handed over to the respective police stations for interrogation and legal action.
