Project costs in Bangladesh higher than in other countries: Energy Advisor |

Google Alert – Bangladesh Army

Fouzul Kabir Khan, Advisor to the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, said that the cost of project implementation must be reduced.

He said, “The cost of projects in Bangladesh is higher than in other countries. Especially in road construction, our cost is much higher than other countries in South Asia. In addition, delays in project implementation are also a big problem. Delays increase the cost further. Therefore, it is necessary to be more cost-effective in the future.”

He said, “The problem is not only the level of cost, but also the projects are not completed on time. Some projects continue for 17-18 years. We will not be able to afford these projects anymore.”

He said this at the inauguration ceremony of the Dhaka-Chittagong Pipeline Project on Saturday.

Fouzul Kabir Khan also said, “Our natural resources are very limited. Earlier, there was some natural gas, which is also gradually running out. Due to corruption and waste, proper use of limited resources is not possible. Projects are not completed on time and the cost also increases. These situations must be stopped.”

The inauguration ceremony, chaired by BPC Chairman Amin ul Ahsan, was attended by the special guests, including Major General Md. Hasan-uz-Zaman, Chief of the Army’s Engineering Corps, and Mohammad Saiful Islam, the secretary of the Energy and Mineral Resources Department.
