A military operation is currently underway in the
Bormachhari area of Laxmichhari upazila in Khagrachhari district. So far,
reports have emerged of a home being searched and property inside being
vandalized.

According to sources, early this morning (around 2:00
AM Wednesday), a team of army personnel led by Lt. Colonel Md. Tajul Islam, the
Laxmichari Zone Commander stationed at the Shuknachari Camp under Bormachari
Union, raided the home of Kamdev Chakma, son of the late Balbhadra Chakma
(Sadhu), a resident of Dewan Para village.

During the operation, the army conducted a search of
the house, vandalized household items, and broke cooking utensils.

As of 7:00 AM, the time this report was filed, the
army personnel were reportedly still present at the location.

Such actions by the armed forces, who are entrusted
with the responsibility of protecting the lives and property of the citizens,
have sparked intense dissatisfaction and anger among the public.

Meanwhile, it has also been reported that 70 soldiers
are stationed at Hudukchari School in the same union, 22 soldiers at Dabhua
School in Kaukhali upazila, and another 15-soldier unit is present in the
Raktachari area.

It is worth mentioning that last night (Tuesday),
around 100 army personnel, led by the Laxmichari Zone Commander, arrived and
took position at the Shuknachari Camp in Bormachari. The current operation is
being conducted from that base. Reports also indicate that three members of a
local vigilante group are accompanying the army unit.
