BRAC University has become the first university in Bangladesh to be recognized by the Internal Audit Academic Alliance program as an “Academic Affiliate” for the university’s internal audit education efforts.
Moreover, Nausheen Ahmed, Head of Internal Audit and Compliance at BRAC University and Secretary General of The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Bangladesh, has been named “Academic Alliance Coordinator” of the university and IIA Global.
Confirmed on August 26, this endorsement will enable the university to avail grants, resources and materials, educator connections at over 150 colleges and universities partnering with the alliance and global accreditations to further internal audit education.
BRAC Business School of BRAC University is currently preparing to offer IIA-affiliated courses and provide free IIA membership to its students, significantly enhancing their professional readiness and international exposure.
Being accepted into the program also advances United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education), which seeks to equip the younger generation with relevant skills, including those essential for financial and professional success.
The program was established by the IIA and Internal Audit Foundation to acknowledge universities that prepare students for a career in internal audit by embedding internal audit education into their curriculum.
Since its founding in 1941, the US-headquartered IIA has been a global leader in advancing the internal audit profession, setting the standard for education, research, and professional development.
