Mobile court stops illegal sand extraction in Trishal

A mobile court, led by Trishal Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abdullah Al Bakiul Bari and Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Md Mahbubur Rahman, conducted drives at several locations in the upazila to stop illegal sand extraction.

On Wednesday, from morning until noon, the mobile court, supported by army personnel and Trishal police, operated in various areas of Kanihari and Balipara unions. Upon the court’s arrival, those involved in extracting sand illegally using boats fled the scene.

Illegally extracted sand from Baroigao in Kanihari Union was seized and allocated to fill the playground of Barma High School. Similarly, sand seized from Morakhola in Balipara was used to level the low-lying area in front of the Balipara Union Land Office.

Additionally, roads used for illegal sand transport were cut off, and entry points were sealed with warning signboards. Authorities have warned that anyone attempting further illegal sand extraction will face strict legal action.

UNO Abdullah Al Bakiul Bari confirmed that such drives and mobile court operations will continue in the public interest.
