With a view to enhance the skills and professional standards of Wushu coaches across the country, the three-day training programme by the Bangladesh Wushu Federation (BWF) is taking place at the Shaheed Capt M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium.
The programme was inaugurated by Brigadier General (Retd.) A B M Shefaul Kabir, SGGP, NDC, AFWC, PSC, Director General of the Bangladesh Olympic Association. Lieutenant Colonel (Retd.) Abu Ayyub Mohammad Hasan, PSC, Vice-President of the Bangladesh Wushu Federation, presided over the ceremony. The event was conducted by Shifu Dildar Hasan Dilu, Founding General Secretary of the federation, and included a speech by SM Shahidul Haque Bhuiyan, Chairman of the Technical Committee.
A total of 95 coaches are participating in the course, including 70 in the Sanda event and 25 in the Taolu event. The participants represent various forces and organisations such as the Army, Police, Ansar, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), as well as different districts of the country.
According to the BWF, the course is designed to prepare coaches for both national and international competitions and to strengthen the development of emerging athletes.
Following the conclusion of this training course, the National Wushu Championship 2025 will be held in Dhaka from 23 to 27 July, with selected athletes from across the country competing for top honours.
