Citing “unpopular facts”, National Citizen Party (NCP) Chief Organiser (northern region) Sarjis Alam on Sunday said the army chief had visited the Combined Military Hospitals (CMH) – housing July victims – much more than the total visits of all advisers combined.

Praising Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman and the Bangladesh army for their role in delivering medical care, financial support, and rehabilitation to those injured during the July mass uprising, he said the critically injured received the highest quality of medical treatment at the CMH.

In a Facebook status, he wrote, “With few exceptions, the Army chief has visited Combined Military Hospital [CMH] every Saturday since August 5, 2024 to see the July victims admitted there, a frequency that surpasses the total combined visits of all advisers.”

The NCP chief organiser further mentioned that, “In terms of financial assistance and rehabilitation for the July victims along with the families of July martyrs, the Bangladesh Army and the Army chief made the most significant contributions after the July Martyrs’ Memorial Foundation and the Ministry of Health.”
