Sarjis Alam, chief organiser (northern region) of the National Citizen Party (NCP), has praised the Bangladesh Army and Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman for their role in providing medical treatment, financial assistance, and rehabilitation to those injured in last year’s mass uprising.
In a Facebook post published on Sunday morning (July 27), Sarjis remarked that the Army Chief visited the injured more times than all the advisers combined.
In his post, titled “A Few Unpopular Facts,” he wrote: “Since August 5, 2024, with a few exceptions, the Army Chief has visited CMH every Saturday to see the July injured admitted there. This number of visits exceeds the total combined visits of all the advisers.”
He added that the most seriously injured received high-quality treatment at Dhaka CMH, where per-person medical expenses were also the highest.
Sarjis further stated that, after the July Martyrs’ Memorial Foundation and the Ministry of Health, the Bangladesh Army and the Army Chief made the most significant contributions in terms of financial assistance and rehabilitation for the injured and the families of the martyrs.
