National Citizen Party (NCP) Chief Organizer for the Northern Region Sarjis Alam lauded the Bangladesh Army and its Chief General Waqar Uz Zaman for their continued support in the treatment, financial assistance and rehabilitation of individuals injured during last year’s mass uprising.

In a post published from his verified Facebook profile on Sunday, Sarjis asserted that the contribution of the army, particularly the Army Chief, has surpassed that of all civilian advisers combined.

Referring to some unpopular information, Sarjis revealed that since August 5, 2024, with a few exceptions, General Waqar has consistently visited the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka every Saturday to check on the injured from the July uprising.

“The number of times Army Chief Waqar Uz Zaman has visited the July injured is more than all the advisors combined,” he wrote implying a visible contrast between institutional commitment and bureaucratic detachment.

Highlighting the government’s efforts, Sarjis pointed out that the Dhaka CMH has recorded the highest per capita expenditure for ensuring quality treatment of the most severely injured individuals.

“The Bangladesh Army and the Army Chief have done the most, after the July Shaheed Smriti Foundation and the Ministry of Health, in terms of financial support and rehabilitation of the injured and martyred families,” he added.
