Bangladesh Army personnel physically tortured two brothers in
Bhuyochari, Sajek Union, Rangamati district.

The incident took place this afternoon, Thursday (October 23, 2025).

The victims of the torture are Dipon Chakma (23) and his younger
brother Boromo Chakma (17). They are the sons of the late Sunil Kumar Chakma of
Bhuyochari village.

The soldiers allegedly beat them with sticks and rifle butts and
kicked them, and ordered them to let them know the whereabouts of the UPDF
members. Otherwise, they were threatened with detention.

It is reported that they were released after the torture.

It is worth noting that the army has been conducting an operation in
the Bhuyochari area since October 18. Currently, a large number of army
personnel are stationed in the Bhuyochari area.

There are allegations of oppression and widespread harassment of the
general people during this operation. The soldiers are reportedly conducting
various unlawful activities, including searching houses and shops, and
slaughtering and consuming livestock raised by villagers for free. This has
caused extreme panic among the local residents.
